Flashback Friday

This picture was taken six years ago. It was the summer we ushered at Blossom. It was a short term career. We just did it one season to pay for one of the wedding receptions. Mostly we worked at Cleveland Orchestra concerts. Other programs included A Prairie Home Companion, Kenny G, the Andre Rieu Orchestra and an Oldies but Goodies show - just to name a few. It was a fun job because we did it together.

Spring Travels

My recent lengthy trip had two destinations. We spent the first week with Ben and Katherine in California. We had a wonderful time visiting bookstores, music stores and especially attending church both on Sunday and the following Thursday for a Lenten service. We enjoyed spectacular ocean views walking around Redondo Beach while Katherine was working.
The second week included a visit to Colorado Springs to see Elizabeth and family as well as attend the Space Symposium. Elizabeth was able to attend on Wednesday evening as I was allowed to have a guest that night. I will be a Teacher Liaison for the 2006-2007 school year. My job is to promote science and math education with an emphasis on space education. Sometimes it does take a rocket scientist - and this country needs more of them.
I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. I certainly did.

Palm Sunday

I just spent about two weeks in the west - one in California and one in Colorado Springs. Both were fantastic experiences, and I will talk more about them. But for today, it is time to celebrate Palm Sunday.

It is one of my favorite days to attend church. I continued a tradition started by Katherine and myself during the Easter season several years ago - that of attending two different churches of different denominations.

First I went to the Presbyterian Church in Cuyahoga Falls.

(Marie is the choir director)

Then I went to the United Methodist Church in Stow.

(Richard sings in the choir.)
