Over the Rhine at Malone

Last night we attended the Over the Rhine concert at Malone College. We are such fans. We arrived about an hour early, and were able to sit in the front row. There are always lots of other friendly fans to talk to. This show was a homecoming for the group. Both Linford and Karin graduated from Malone. The piano instructor from their Malone days was in the audience. Linford's parents came to the show, so Linford told a few funny family stories. They featured songs from their new CD, The Trumpet Child. Their recorded music is always good, but the real treat is to hear them live.

Veterans Day 2007

Today our church choir joined Marie's church choir for a joint rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. I attended both church services. It was a wonderful way to honor the veterans of our country. I especially enjoyed seeing a picture of Rebecca's grandfather as a young man in his WWII uniform during the accompanying slide show at Marie's church. I took the picture of Marie and BJ at our church. Since I had my camera, I took a picture of the plaque that lists all the people from our church who have entered the ministry.

An OSU weekend with family and friends

We did have a good time in Columbus this past weekend, even if the outcome of the game did not go our way. We joined my first cousin Lee and his wife Betty at the Columbus Fish Market on Friday night. We had a great time. They live in South Carolina, but made every OSU home game this year. They had a better record than we did, and we live in Ohio.
On Saturday we visited Paul and Ann in their new patio home. After a tasty lunch, they invited us to join them on the floor at St. John's Arena for the Skull Session with the Marching Band. We were only a few feet away from the football team when they made their stop at the Skull Session. They certainly looked big enough to beat Illinois.
