Early Sunday Morning Run
It is a beautiful day in northeastern Ohio. There is not a cloud in the sky. Since Marie challenged me to do the Stow Firecracker Run with her this year, I knew I had to do some running outside. So if the weather is nice on Sundays, I go for an early morning run. This morning I took off armed with power music on my Nano. I started in Sherwood Acres, and then turned left onto Fishcreek. From there I went into our old neighborhood. I ran past the Dillows, our former house and Echo Hills School. I arrived back in Sherwood Acres with slightly more than 5K registered on the Nano. I had a good time. Now I must get ready for church, and give thanks for all my blessings.

Friday Flashback
I spent sixteen years teaching in Rootstown. Yesterday I spent just a little more time there visiting with several old friends. Rootstown had a lucrative buyout, and many took advantage of it. I crashed their party. Here I am pictured with two social studies teachers, one math teacher and one German/biology teacher. It was a lot of fun teaching with these gentlemen.

Garage Sale - 2008
Sherwood Acres had its annual garage sale yesterday. It certainly wasn't like in the old days when a person could hardly drive up and down the streets because of so many parked cars. But despite the chill in the air and the threat of rain, we did have one for most of the day. We had egg salad sandwiches for lunch. That was what we always ate at Grandma Watson's sales. Her sales were always social events. This year Lily kept busy by coloring, blowing bubbles and greeting the customers. She always said bye when they tried to slip out unnoticed without buying anything. Charlie was just bored. It is no fun at a garage sale if you can't be running around a bit.
At the end of our sales day, we went to the Goodwill drop off and gave away most of the unsold items.

Happy Mother's Day
I hope all the mothers everywhere had as nice a weekend as I did. I did not see all my children and grandchildren in person, but the memories of the great time we had when they were here are still with me.
Yesterday I went to Ashtabula County for my yearly Memorial Day visit to the cemeteries. On my way I stopped in Jefferson at my old home. Here are two pictures of it. I lived at 47 North Market Street for ten years when I was growing up. I wish I had the nerve to knock on the door and say, "I used to live here. Can I come in and look around?"

Friday Flashback
We had a family reunion this past week, What fun it was to have our children all together again. Of course it was extra special because of our six grandchildren being here, too. We did lots of fun things such as eat lots of ice cream, hangout, go to a movie, go to a playground, talk with friends and take pictures. I hope we can do this again soon.
