A few on Wednesday

1. Life is full of coincidences. I recently found the little brochure that came with the Candy Corn basket shown on E's picture a day. I had put this in my ready to send file. At least now you know how old this basket is.
2. I ran 5K this morning at the Natatorium, at least according to the voice in my head.
3. It is cold in Ohio. It actually snowed this morning.
4. I am back to knitting snowman Christmas ornaments.
5. I like to write in coffee shops and libraries.

Politicians

Today I thought about various politicians I have seen in my lifetime. The first one I remember was U.S. Senator Robert Taft, nicknamed "Mr. Republican." He made an appearance at the Jefferson Fair when I was about 7 years old. He shook my hand. A few years later I saw Adlai Stevenson on a sidewalk in downtown Cleveland. It was in the fall, and I am pretty sure he was running for President. I attended the Rose Bowl with Richard Nixon with a few thousand people sitting between us. Here I am pictured with the current Mayor of Stow, who actually is a friend. The most recent politician I've seen is Barack Obama, as I attended his speech in Canton, Ohio this afternoon. It was an exciting event, and I'm glad I made the effort to go.

Cousins

Here are pictures of three cousins.. Carver and his father Sean are in one picture and Charlie T is in the other.

From Florida to Pennsylvania

We went to Florida to celebrate the 90th birthday of Eleanor R. We all had a fine time. It was a treat for me to meet my nephew Sean again, as well as his wife Melissa and son Carver for the first time.
There is new meaning for the song She'll Be Comin' Around the Mountain, because that is exactly what I did to visit the T family in their new home. Actually, I think I went around three mountains to get there. The drive was beautiful with all the fall leaf colors.
Our house was a different color when I returned home yesterday.
