Pennsylvania Connection

It is always interesting to discover a coincidence. My relatives have a history of living in Pennsylvania. Tonight I came across this marriage certificate of my maternal great-grandparents on my father's side. My father was an only child, and I never learned much about his side of the family. Hm. I am getting the urge to get back to genealogy.

Mystery Pictures

When we purchased a digital camera a couple years ago, I turned on my film camera. I put it down and did not touch it for over two years. I recently decided to finish the roll, and find out where the camera had been. Here are two of the mystery pictures. I turned in a roll from D's camera today, so there will be more mystery pictures on the way.
I remember the Sunday we had lunch with the big group of people. I think it was in Colorado Springs. It is fun to see Lily as a baby again..

Princess of the Mardi Gras

Princesses are very popular in the family now. I am sure all the girls in the family who are old enough to talk can name several. Once upon a time many years ago, we discovered we had a real princess among us. Actually she was quite brave to be sitting on this scary lady's lap, who was the Queen of the Mardi Gras.

Ten about the Presidential Inauguration

1. A big thank you goes to the Arlington Bus System for providing free transportation on Inauguration Day.
2. I stayed out in the cold for almost nine hours and did not get sick.
3. People from the south or west suffered from the temperature more than I did. Sometimes it pays to be from Ohio.
4. We saw the Library of Congress Police patrolling our area. This was comforting in an amusing way to all of us book lovers.
5. Chocolate covered pretzels are the best snack when standing outside for hours in January.
6. I learned my digital camera has video capabilities.
7. Massive crowds can be well behaved if the people are in a good mood.
8. I noticed an elderly gentleman with the words Tuskegee Airmen on the sleeve of his leather jacket.
9. The Marine Band played wonderful marches which made me feel very patriotic.
10. My pedometer registered 19,644 steps on January 20, 2009.
