Flashback Friday



My father taught at this school in Ashtabula, Ohio. It was his first teaching job. He also was the girls' basketball coach. When my parents got married, my mother had to quit teaching. It was not socially acceptable to be a married woman teacher at that time.




I took these pictures last summer. According to the yearbook from the old Edgewood High School, things look pretty much the same as they did when my parents were part of that school about seventy years ago.

I'm not sure I've ever seen either of these buildings, but that high school really is gorgeous! I hope it's well-kept inside like GFHS is. It was such a weird policy back then...
